Writing Goals for Majors in Communication

Upon completion of the B.A. in Communication, students should be able to produce writing that demonstrates the following abilities:

Goal 1: To outline an oral presentation.
Goal 2: To apply communication theory to communication transactions.
Goal 3: To analyze and evaluate persuasive messages.
Goal 4: To write a literature review on a communication topic.
Goal 5: To adapt a persuasive message for a particular audience.
Goal 6: To write persuasive proposals.
Goal 7: To do original research in the discipline of communication.
Goal 8: To use proper MLA and/or APA source citation.
