Welcome to the Dance Department’s guide to writing in the dance
discipline. This Web page is designed to help students develop and strengthen
the writing skills that are necessary for proficiency in the dance major and in the dance profession.
The Dance Department recognizes that each discipline has its own conventions
of language, use, and style. We wish to help students recognize
the importance of oral and written communication in the dance major, and
we seek to assist students in learning the forms of discourse practiced
in the dance discipline.
