Edens Library is seeking to hire a librarian to work at the Reference Desk on Thursday nights, 4 p.m. -9:00 p.m. during the spring semester (January 19 –May 3, 2012).

Duties include: answering reference and computer questions, supervising student workers and supervising the library. The Thursday night reference librarian is the only staff member working in the library at that time.

Qualifications: ALA-accredited Masters degree or strong consideration will be given to a current graduate student in library & information science masters program.

Located at the center of the Columbia College campus, the J. Drake Edens Library provides a broad collection that supports the College’s liberal arts curriculum and professional programs. Library resources are accessible though the website which provides access to the print and media collections, tens of thousands of full-text articles and other resources. The library is Wi-Fi enabled and has computer labs for student use. Study rooms are also available for individual and small group on a first-come first-serve basis. Help locating and using materials is available from Reference librarians on the main floor of the library, by phone, by email and through Meebo instant chat.
