Job duties include:
Conduct college courses in Spanish to all levels of undergraduate college students within the prescribed curriculum of the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures continually enhancing teaching skills and methods used in the classroom; serve on department and college committees; engage in research in the field of specialization while continuing to enhance professional development; attend and present papers at professional organizations; assist in departmental advising of students majoring in Spanish; prepare and deliver lectures to students; prepare and distribute each course syllabus which contains course descriptions, an outline and schedule for presentation of course content, all course requirements, and teacher policies, a statement of the College's attendance policy, a list of reading materials, and grading policies and procedures; compile, administer, and grade examinations, writing, and research projects; supervise and provide guidance to undergraduate students in their assignments and research projects; perform related duties such as advising students on academic curricula and how to best maximize their learning experience to prepare them for the highly competitive and global marketplace upon graduation; maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, assignments, examinations, and other relevant records as required by the university.
Experience/Education:
A Ph.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) in Spanish, Spanish Literature, or related field.
Work Schedule: 8 a.m.-5 p.m./M-F.
