Custodial Attendant I

POSITION SUMMARY:
Maintains campus buildings in clean and orderly condition by performing duties as assigned by management/supervisor, using various cleaning materials, methods and equipment

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following (other duties may be assigned)

* Cleans classrooms, dormitories, laboratories, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas.
* Sweeps, scrubs, applies floor finish/sealer and buffs floors.
* Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, chalkboards and draperies.
* Dusts furniture and equipment. Polishes metal surfaces.
* Washes walls, ceilings and woodwork. Washes windows, doors panels and sills.
* Empties wastebaskets, empties and cleans ashtrays.
* Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
* Replenishes rest room supplies.
* Moves and/or set-ups tables and chairs as required.
* Report damage, vandalism and theft.
* Ability to operate, utilize various cleaning equipment to include but not limited to floor care and carpet care

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical requirements for this job could be lifting packages up to 50 pounds.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individual with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and smell. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move with assistance up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works near moving mechanical parts. The employee frequently works with various chemicals and cleaning agents.
