Columbia College’s department of communication and theatre helps students gain the knowledge and skills they need to communicate effectively. In addition, the department provides a variety of opportunities for students to acquire an understanding of and an appreciation for the theater.

The B.A. in Communication is an exciting degree choice that's popular with many college students. As a communication major, you will study communication in all its many forms, including interpersonal, small group, organizational, intercultural, and public and mass communication.

Theatre Minor

A Theatre minor gives students the opportunity to purse their interests in acting and theater. Students may choose from a variety of interesting classes, including an introduction to acting, the history of the theater, and theater production.

Cottingham Theater, which houses the Department of Speech and Drama, provides an excellent venue for theater, music, and dance performances. The facility includes a 375-seat auditorium, an arena theater, a gallery and reception area, dressing rooms, a costume room, offices, and classrooms.
