International D'Etudes Francaises, (International Center for
French Language and Culture) at the UCO, Angers, France
Located
about 2 hours south of Paris, the city of Angers, France is situated
in the famous valley of the River Loire, surrounded by some of the
most beautiful castles in Europe.
The University is located
in the center of the city, which is known for its gardens and parks
dating to the 14th century. The University has a long tradition of
graduating scientists, poets, painters, architects and sculptors.
Today, the Universitys students represent almost 40 countries.
The city of Angers and
the University present a rich cultural program during the summer.
Events include concerts, art exhibits, plays, music festivals, lectures,
discussions, and social gatherings. There also is a program of organized
excursions guided by professors on the weekends to some of the most
famous and historical sites in France.
Columbia College offers
semester and summer programs at this center in Angers. Coursework
includes beginning, elementary, intermediate or advanced French.
Optional courses in French literature, civilization, commercial French
and translation also are offered.
Tuition for the semester
program is the same as a semester at Columbia College. AIRFARES ARE NOT INCLUDED, student must ay for their airfares separate
