These scholarships are not limited in number. Every student who qualifies with the appropriate SAT score will be awarded the scholarships for which they are eligible. State and federal aid as well as other scholarships may significantly increase one’s award.

For example, many South Carolina residents qualify for the $5,000 Life Scholarship (current funding levels). Also, our out-of-state students may qualify for additional $1000 annually with our Residential Scholarship.
Columbia College scholarships will be limited to no more than the difference between tuition, room and board, books and the total of all other aid (state, federal and outside scholarships). Scholarship amounts will be adjusted if total aid awarded exceeds the amount needed to cover tuition, room, board, and fees for residents or tuition and fees for commuters.

Any student seeking Financial Aid (state and federal) in the form of loans and grants must complete the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

Founders Scholarship
The Founders Scholarship fills the gap between the cost of tuition and the sum of the student's federal, state, and private gift aid; therefore, it is a full tuition equivalent. Any incoming freshman with an SAT math/verbal score of 1300 or more will be awarded the Founders Scholarship. The scholarship is renewable each year if the student meets the continuing eligibility criteria.

Presidential Scholarship
Any incoming freshman with an SAT math/verbal score of 1180 to 1290 will be awarded a Presidential Scholarship in the amount of $12,000 for residents and $9000 for commuters. The scholarship is renewable each year if the student meets the continuing eligibility criteria.

Trustees Scholarship
Any incoming freshman with an SAT math/verbal score of 1020 to 1170 will be awarded a Trustee Scholarship in the amount of $10,000 for residents and $8000 for commuters. The scholarship is renewable each year if the student meets the continuing eligibility criteria.

Columbia College Opportunity Grant
Any incoming freshman with an SAT math/verbal score less than 890 will be awarded a Columbia College Opportunity Grant in the amount of $4,000 for residents and $3000 for commuters. The scholarship is renewable each year if the student meets the continuing eligibility criteria.
