As a freshman or transfer student at Columbia College, you are eligible for a variety of financial assistance programs, including scholarships, grants, loans and student work programs.
Free Application for Federal Student Aid
All students who desire to apply for financial aid at Columbia College must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students who file the FAFSA by the priority deadline of April 15 can expect to be considered for a greater variety of funds, most of which are exhausted by the month of May each year. South Carolina residents must file by June 30 each year in order to be considered for the South Carolina Tuition Grant.
By completing the FAFSA, a student applies for federal, state, and institutional aid. It is a fair and equitable system devised by the U.S. Department of Education for establishing financial need. Students should complete only one FAFSA each year. During the application process, students will have the opportunity to list any colleges to which they have applied. Each college listed will receive the FAFSA results electronically. Each college is identified by name and by code number. The Columbia College FAFSA code is 003430.
Completing the FAFSA is easier than ever. Simply go online to the following web address and follow the step-by-step instructions.
