Career Peers work in the
Career Resource Library assisting students in their career process
and finding career information. Career peers help students explore
majors, find experiential educational opportunities, research employment,
prepare and apply to graduate school, manage the information in the
library, and additional duties. The career peers are the students'
first contact.
They also assist students
seeking internships and going through the job hunting and campus
interview process as well as help students write resumes and apply
for various internship positions. Career Peers assist in the facilitation
of workshops that introduce students to the world of job searching,
internships, graduate school, majors, and much more.
Career Peers aid students
in the process to define themselves with respect to career and major
decision-making as well as determine which career exploration/self-assessment
tools they might want to use. In addition to guiding students through
the Career planning process, they also staff the front desk, schedule
appointments for the Director of Career Services, approach and interact
with students entering the Career Resource Library and provide tours
of the Career Resource Library, as necessary. Career peers manage
job postings, the internship database and Career Center Resource
Library.
