To be eligible for admission in the Evening program, you should be a graduate of an accredited high school or have earned the equivalent of a high school diploma. SAT or ACT scores are NOT required; however, you are required to submit the following documents according to your status.
True Freshman
If you have never attended a college, university, technical school, business school, beauty school, etc., fill out the Evening Application
One recommendation is required
Ask a former teacher, professor, college official, or employer to provide a recommendation for you. This person must not be related to you. The information provided will be considered confidential and will become the property of Columbia College.
You can print a copy of the recommendation form and fill in the top portion. Give the form to the person making the recommendation; ask them to mail it to Office of Admission, Columbia College, 1301 Columbia College Drive, Columbia, SC 29203. This recommendation becomes part of your admission file.
Submit an official high school transcript The official transcript must be mailed directly from the institution you attended to the Office of Admissions at Columbia College.
Submit GED scores, if you do not have a high school transcript

Submit an official high school transcript if you have completed less than thirty semester hours of college credit that will transfer to Columbia College.

Readmit Applicants
If you have previously attended Columbia College, print and submit the Evening Readmit Application along with a $50.00 non-refundable application fee made payable to Columbia College. An admission file will NOT be opened until the $50.00 non-refundable application fee has been received. You may pay this fee by cash, check, or credit card. VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover are accepted. To may the payment by credit card, call the Office of Admissions at 803.786.3191 and speak with an Evening Admissions Counselor.
Recommendation is NOT required
Submission of all official undergraduate transcripts if you last attended Columbia College MORE THAN five years ago.
If you attended Columbia College within the last five years but have attended another institution since leaving CC, submit an official transcript from that institution.
Second Degree Applicants
File the online Evening Application (link at bottom of this page) and submit a $50.00 application fee. You may pay the $50.00 application fee by check, made payable to Columbia College, money order, cash, or credit card. VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Discovery are accepted for credit card payments. To pay by credit card over the phone, please call 803.786.3191.

Non-Degree Applicants
Print and submit the Non-Degre Applicaion
Please note that you must fill in the course for which you are registering. NON-DEGREE SEEKING STUDENTS MUST SUBMIT A NEW APPLICATION EACH SEMESTER.
Transfer course credit is accepted from regionally accredited colleges and universities. The maximum transfer credit accepted from two-year colleges is seventy-two semester hours. Once your file is complete, it will be sent to the registrar for an official transfer evaluation that determines the number of transfer hours to which you are entitled.
Admission will be granted if you have a 2.1 or higher GPA as either a First-Time Freshman or Transfer student. Special consideration is given to unusual circumstances that affected previous high school or college grades.

If you plan to file for financial aid, please check the deadlines on this website and apply as soon as possible. To apply for financial aid, you will file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, FAFSA, which will determine your eligibility for receiving the S.C. Tuition Grant, Pell Grant, and/or Stafford Federal Loans. You may file the FAFSA on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
