1. When you file your application and list the colleges you have attended,
be sure to request transcripts from the following institutions if you have
attended any of them:
- Business schools
- Beauty schools
- Non-accredited schools
- Schools you attended ten, fifteen, even twenty-five years ago
- Schools where you enrolled but withdrew before earning a grade
- Schools where your GPA was low
If you do not list all the schools you have attended, this will delay your
acceptance because it is imperative that we have a complete picture of your
academic background.
2. It is important to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, FAFSA, at the same time you submit your application for admission. If you wait to file the FAFSA after you are accepted, this will delay your being awarded financial aid. If you have trouble filing the FAFSA, you can contact the Office of Financial Aid at 803.786.3612 and ask for an appointment with a counselor who will help you file the FAFSA.
3. Register to take placement evaluations as soon as you submit your application for admission. It does not matter how well you perform on the evaluations in English and math. These are used as placement tools and HAVE NO EFFECT on being accepted to Columbia College.
4. Call an Evening Counselor if you have questions about the admission process. You can reach us at 786.3191 or 1.800.277.1301. |
