Class Attendance Policy

Students are expected to attend all class sessions and to participate in a timely way in each online class meeting for each course for which credit is sought. Students should verify their availability to attend all course sessions before registering and enrolling. Absences are not approved for reunions, family trips, weddings, etc. If illness or an unexpected crisis occurs during a course session or the time period set for an online class meeting, the student should immediately consult with the instructor to determine the feasibility of completing the course despite the necessitated absences. If this is not feasible, the student should immediately apply for withdrawal and/or for a leave of absence. Additionally, each student is expected to complete all assignments before, between, and after on-campus sessions in a timely way. Failure to do so can result in a failing grade and dismissal from the program. Specific policy on class attendance is set by the individual graduate faculty member and stated clearly on each course syllabus. Failure to attend the first class meeting of the semester will result in the voiding of your registration.

The Divergent Learning program is designed for working teachers who would like to enroll in a program whose classes never meet during the school day or on school nights. The DL program offers intense, concentrated class weekends.

Friday evening class                 5:00-9:30 p.m.

Saturday morning class            9:00-1:30 p.m.

Saturday afternoon class         2:30-7:00 p.m.

Sunday afternoon class           1:00-5:30 p.m.
