The Columbia College Student Health Center offers a variety of healthcare services, progams and information resources to help students maintain optimal emotional and physical health.

The Center is staffed by a registered nurse and a licensed practical nurse. Part-time and consulting staff includes a physician and a nurse practitioner who are on-call and available to the nursing staff for consultation during regular hours.

The Student Health Center is one of only three accredited health centers in South Carolina. The accreditation ensures that the Student Health Center has passed a series of rigorous and nationally recognized standards for the provision of health care. The Student Health Center is located at 4808 Colonial Drive, across the street from College Place Methodist Church.

Confidentiality
Information about a student's health is confidential and is released only with the student's permission. This policy applies regardless of whether the information is requested by college administration, friends, family members, therapists or physicians involved in the student's immediate care.

Mission Statement
The purpose of Columbia College Health Service is to enhance the student's college experience by modifying or removing health-related barriers to learning and to promote an optimal level of wellness.

The Student Health Service provides health care, makes appropriate referrals with local resources in the external community and facilitates educational and health promotion programs in a caring, cost effective and convenient manner. All encounters between students and staff are regarded as opportunities to influence health attitudes, practices and behaviors. Our staff is committed to the recognition of differences and the understanding of each student within the contect of circumstance, family, community and culture so that the individual's health is viewed in relation to their capacities and lifestyles.
