The Leadership Institute at Columbia College invites Columbia College sophomores, juniors and seniors to join Leader2Leader, a unique and powerful mentoring program.
Research shows that mentors are important to effective leadership. Through Leader 2 leader, you will be assigned to a community leader who will meet with you once a month to talk about leadership issues. Your mentor may take you to lunch, have you visit her or his workplace, introduce you at professional associations or just meet with you on campus. You and your mentor will decide what experiences are important for your leadership development. Mentors can help with understanding career fields, skill development, networking and encouraging effective leadership.
Students are matched with mentors based on career interests, personal interests or skill development interests. All mentors are accomplished community leaders who are interested in helping Columbia College students.
Apply for a mentor assignment. Applications are available in The Leadership Institute, second floor, Breed Leadership Center. Email leadership@columbiasc.edu or call 786-3729 for application deadlines.
All students interested in the Leader 2 leader program must participate in a half hour orientation prior to being assigned a mentor. Orientation session schedules are available at The Leadership Institute.
