(COLUMBIA, SC) Columbia College President Caroline Whitson has announced the appointment of N. Jane Williams to the position of vice president for advancement, effective November 1.
In addition to serving as the College's primary major gifts officer, Williams will be responsible for oversight of the offices of annual giving and donor relations; grants, corporations, and prospect management; planned giving; records and research; alumnae relations; and public relations.
Williams comes to Columbia College from the University of South Carolina, where she has served as director of development for the College of Liberal Arts, the College of Pharmacy, and the College of Library and Information Science. Her background also includes information systems management with SCT Utility Systems, the Environmental Systems Research Institute, The Fontaine Company, and her own consulting firm, N.J. Williams Associates.
She holds a B.S. degree, cum laude, in psychology and a master's degree in public administration from the University of South Carolina. A 1994 graduate of Leadership Columbia, she is a member of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and the Rotary Club of Five Points and has been named Volunteer of the Year by the National Kidney Foundation of S.C.
