S. Carolinians Encouraged to Register on Alliance Website
The Alliance for Women -- a public-private partnership between Columbia College and the S.C. Commission on Women -- is encouraging all interested South Carolinians to join the Alliance by registering on its website, www.allianceforwomen.net.
Registrants will receive:
consolidated research on the status of women in S.C.
a statewide listing of programs and speakers addressing the status of women
virtual access to Think Tanks on relevant subjects (e.g., increasing the number of women entrepreneurs and the number of women on boards and commissions)
quarterly news updates on important issues
E-alerts when immediate action is needed
The mission of the Alliance is to improve the status of women in South Carolina, currently among the lowest in the nation, thereby improving the state economically for ALL South Carolinians.
"We encourage everyone to join the Alliance and become part of a statewide system to change the status of women," said Dr. Linda Salane, executive director of The Leadership Institute at Columbia College. "The more people who register, the stronger the system for change. And the stronger the system for change, the more likely that change will occur."
