Columbia College Names New Trustees

COLUMBIA, SC. . .Columbia College has announced the appointment of five new members to its 27-member Board of Trustees for four-year terms, 2005-2009.  New trustees include Jeff H. Selig and Dalhi N. Myers of Columbia; Marguerite S. Willis of Florence; The Reverend Susan Henry-Crowe of Atlanta; and June Johnson Bradham '68 of Charleston.

Selig is executive vice president of CMC Steel Group, a division of Commercial Metals Company, with responsibility for units in South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia.  In addition, as a member of the CMC Steel Group Operating Board, he directs corporate sales and marketing on the East Coast.  He has served on the boards of Junior Achievement, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the Tree of Life Congregation, and the Columbia Jewish Federation.

Myers is special counsel with the law firm of Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, P.A., practicing primarily in the areas of corporate commercial transactions, international commerce, and regulated utilities.  Prior to joining the firm in 2002, she was regional director of legal and regulatory affairs for MCI WorldCom Asia Pacific in Hong Kong.  She is a member of the board of the Columbia YWCA and an ex-officio member of the board of the Columbia City Center Partnership.  She was a member of the inaugural class of S.C.'s Liberty Fellowship and was recognized as one of The State newspaper's "20 Under 40" in 2004.  A graduate of Spelman College, she received a J.D. degree, cum laude, from the Howard University School of Law.

Willis is a partner in the law firm of Nexsen Pruet Adams Kleemeier, LLC, working in the Columbia office in the area of commercial litigation, with concentration in antitrust and products liability.  She received a bachelor's degree, with high honors, from the University of Michigan and a J.D. degree, cum laude, from Stetson University.  Prior to joining Nexsen Pruet in 2000, she was a partner in the firm of Howrey Simon Arnold & White, LLP.  A former member of the board of directors of the S.C. Chamber of Commerce, she currently serves on the University of S.C. School of Law Partnership Board and was a 2005 recipient of the YWCA of the Midlands' Tribute to Women and Industry Award.

Henry-Crowe has served as dean of the chapel and religious life at Emory University since 1991. A member of the S.C. Conference of the United Methodist Church, she previously pastored five churches in South Carolina and served as director of the Conference's Council on Ministries.  She has held leadership positions in the Church on the national level, including membership on the Judicial Council and the Commission on Communications.  A frequent speaker and workshop presenter at colleges and universities across the country, she is a trustee of Claflin University and Santiago College.  She holds a bachelor's degree from Winthrop College (now Winthrop University) and a master of divinity degree from Emory's Candler School of Theology.

Bradham is founder, president, and CEO of Corporate DevelopMint, which specializes in fundraising consulting for non-profit organizations.  Prior to founding the firm in 1996, she served as director of marketing for Hilton Head Hospital and as the first executive director of the Hilton Head Health Foundation. A 1968 graduate of Columbia College, she is a former member of the executive cabinet of the Trident United Way and a past board member of the Charleston Area Arts Council, the Education Foundation of the Trident Area, and the Charleston Symphony Orchestra.  She currently serves on the boards of the S.C. Chamber of Commerce, the S.C. Association of Nonprofit Organizations, the Association of Fundraising Professionals Lowcountry Chapter, and the Governor's School of Science and Mathematics.  In addition, she is a member of The Citadel School of Business Administration Advisory Council.
