(COLUMBIA, SC) The Columbia College Graduate Program in Human Behavior and Conflict Management will hold a conference on "Embracing Conflict: Creating Opportunities for Change" on Friday, May 6, 8 a.m.-4:45 p.m., and Saturday, May 7, 8 a.m.-2 p.m., in the Breed Leadership Center.
The conference will feature keynote speakers Tom Crick (12 noon-1:30 p.m. Friday), senior political analyst in the Conflict Resolution Program at the Carter Center in Atlanta, and Jayne Seminare Docherty (3:15-4:45 p.m. Friday), associate professor of conflict studies at Eastern Mennonite University. A total of 21 workshops will be offered for those who work with conflict and conflict resolution in business, government, law and mediation, social services, non-profits, law enforcement, and education.
Co-sponsors of the event are the Community Mediation Center of Columbia, the Upstate Mediation Center of Greenville, the S.C. Bar Law Related Education Division, the S.C. Bar Alternative Dispute Resolution Section, and the S.C. Council for Conflict Resolution.
