Organize Rally to Support Domestic Violence Bill
(COLUMBIA, SC) Columbia College students, in cooperation with other local colleges and universities, organized a march and rally April 21 to show support for a proposed bill to make domestic violence a felony that was recently tabled by the S.C. House Judiciary Committee.
The Committee's decision to table the domestic violence bill became controversial after WIS-TV reported that a bill making cockfighting a felony was passed. Almost 200 students participated in the march, which began at Wesley United Methodist Church and continued to the State House grounds.
