The Columbia College Department of Communication and Theatre will present Lemonade and Chocolate Cake, two hilarious and sometimes poignant one-act comedies about women who live through their illusions.
In Lemonade, by James Prideaux, two women set up a roadside stand to sell spiked lemonade to travelers. As the two trade lemonade, they also share the fantasies they have invented to add spark to their everyday lives.
Chocolate Cake, by Mary Gallagher, is about two women who meet at a women’s conference and discover, through a series of amusing exchanges, that they share a secret obsession with food.
Directing the evening’s entertainment will be Jocelyn Sanders, a Columbia College graduate who has performed and directed at Trustus Theatre and Workshop Theatre. Patrick Faulds of the Department of Communication and Theatre is technical director.
Featured in the cast are Columbia College students Lakita Ashford, a sophomore from Columbia, SC; Zena Mobley, a sophomore from Rock Hill, SC; Hayley Reynolds, a sophomore from Myrtle Beach, SC; and Jessica Williams, a sophomore from Irmo, SC.
