Campus Police Chief Howard Cook
Columbia College is pleased to announce that Campus Police Chief Howard Cook graduated on March 17, 2006, from the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) National Academy Program in Quantico, Virginia. Internationally known for its academic excellence, the National Academy is an intensive 10-week program of advanced investigative, management, and fitness training for officers who are nominated and selected from a competitive application process.
Training for the program is provided by FBI Academy instructors, Special Agents, and other staff holding advanced degrees, many of whom are recognized internationally in their fields of expertise.
Chief Cook is one of three officers from South Carolina to graduate from the 2006 National Academy Program. Only one-half of one-percent of law enforcement officers in the United Stated are selected to participate in this prestigious program. Chief Cook joined Columbia College in 2000 and currently serves as the president of the South Carolina Campus Law Enforcement Officer Association.
