The Goodall Gallery at Columbia College will present an exhibition of senior works by Faith Adedokun, Jennifer Brown, Nikki Gillis, and Nicole Monchamp entitled "Defining Identity". An artist's reception will be held April 14, 2007, and the show will continue through May 7, 2007. The featured artists are displaying works they completed during the past year with specific direction towards finding their own identity.

Faith Adedokun's intaglio prints are based on issues of redemption, with inspiration from her religious faith and Southern culture. In addition, her series of self-portrait paintings depict stereotypical roles and identities of African-American women.
Jennifer Brown's graphic design works are inspired by her passion to uplift self-esteem for women. Her monotypes focus on her personal emotions as an African American and the religious beauty of contrasting light and dark.
Nikki Gillis's pastel drawings are an expression of hand movements and the emotions they portray. Her oil paintings are inspired by the simple beauty of the world, and she portrays this through moments captured in landscape.
Nicole Monchamp's suite of prints portrays ambition and drive. Her images are inspired by the desire to accomplish any task and the perseverance of the human spirit.

The Goodall Gallery is located on the Columbia College campus on North Main Street. Turn onto Columbia College Drive and the gallery is inside the gate in the Spears Music/ Art Center to the right. The Goodall Gallery is open Monday through Wednesday from 10:00 am -5:00 pm, Thursday and Friday from 10:00 am Ð 7:00 pm, and Saturday and Sunday 1:00pm Ð 5:00 pm.
