| Students to Present Research on South Carolina Social Issues |

Time: 6pm--8pm
Nine students participating in Columbia College's Leadership in Action class have spent the semester researching topics of social concern, comparing South Carolina to other states, and developing proposals for addressing each issue. Their research included a trip to Washington D.C., for personal interviews with state representatives. The students include Mehreen Ahmad, Amanda Bowers, Elizabeth Barrett, KB Bowman, Jessica "Halle" Cornish, Kayla Gibson, Danielle Gilllard, Kim McNeal, and Coley Ray. Their research and proposals will be presented in an “interactive colloquium” format and public participation is invited. There is no charge for this event.

Improving the South Carolina High School League
Intervention Programs for Domestic Violence Abusers
Gender Pay Gap
Reproductive/Sexual Health Education
South Carolina Women and Poverty
Women's Business Ownership
Domestic Violence: Battering in SC Date Rape Laws and Convictions
The first hour will be a series of brief presentations in which each student will overview her project. The second hour will be an interactive format, with each student stationed at a project display to engage in dialogue. Light refreshments will be provided.
