October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and WNOK has spotlighted this time of reflection and awareness with Bras Across Columbia, an uplifting show of support for survivors and victims of this tragic illness.

The public was asked to donate old bras or buy new ones to donate. All of the donated bras were hooked together to form one long line. On Tuesday, October 2nd, they were hoisted high in the air beside I-126, visible to drivers for the entire day in honor of Breast Cancer survivors, patients, families, friends, and lost loved ones.

The Morning Rush broadcast live from the grounds of the South Carolina Oncology Center. After October 2nd, all of the donated bras were professionally cleaned and donated to a women’s shelter and to charity.

Columbia College offered help and collected over 200 bras
from faculty staff and students!
