Columbia College presents The Fantasticks, a classic coming-of-age love story about a pair of young lovers and their meddling, matchmaking mothers. Knowing that children always do the opposite of what their parents want, the mothers hatch an elaborate plan that brings the couple together…so why does the ‘happy ending’ leave everyone feeling less than fantastic?  The Fantasticks is a comedic love story, filled with stage magic and farcical allusion guaranteed to be enjoyed by all.
With music written by Harvey Schmidt and lyrics by Tom Jones, The Fantasticks has delighted audiences across the world—including a record-shattering 17,162 performances, making it the world’s longest running musical since its off-Broadway debut in 1960.
