Krejci Honored as

Dr. Richard Krejci received the 2007 College/University Health Education Professional of the Year Award at the annual South Carolina Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (SCAHPERD) conference held in Myrtle Beach in November. The award is sponsored by the South Carolina Association for the Advancement of Health Education (SCAAHE).
Dr. Krejci, associate professor of physical education and health promotion, has been an educator for 30 years and a member of the Columbia College faculty since 1983. During the past 12 years, he has served as chair of the department of physical education and health promotion and this year he is also serving as the chair of the faculty at Columbia College. Dr. Krejci is recognized for being an instrumental force in maintaining an effective health education general education requirement in health and wellness and encouraging a variety of activity courses for developing personal fitness and health. In recent years, he developed and implemented a new minor at Columbia College in health and wellness.
Krejci has served on many state and national association committees and was vice president for the health division in the South Carolina Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (SCAHPERD) from 1988 to 1990. Dr. Krejci served as state president for SCAHPERD in 1996.
