Participants will enjoy sporting dog demonstrations and competitions, children's activities including wagon rides, a fishing rodeo, pumpkin painting, games, corn shucking, nature walks and much more!  Dog competitions begin at 8 a.m. and participants must pre-register. Free family activities begin at 10 a.m.

Barbecue, hot dogs and catfish stew may be purchased for a picnic lunch on the plantation grounds.  A silent auction will be held from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. and a live auction begins at 12:30 p.m.  Directions and a list of the auction items may be found on the Columbia College website (www.columbiacollegesc.edu) along with much more information.

North Camden Plantation, a 5000-plus acre property with conservation areas and abundant wildlife, is the home of Leonard Price, a businessman, philanthropist and College Trustee. Price and his daughter Kay Price Phillips, are generous supporters of Columbia College and hope to raise $100,000 for scholarships through this event. “We are delighted to welcome the community to North Camden Plantation to join us in supporting Columbia College in a meaningful way,” says Kay Price Phillips, a Columbia College alumna.

The Sporting and Family Fest attracts over 50 private and corporate sponsors, and in previous years has raised over $300,000 in scholarship assistance for students. Top-tier sponsors include First Citizens Bank, BlueCross Blue Shield of SC, Wachovia Foundation, Bob Bennett, The State Newspaper, Carolina First Bank, Budweiser of Spartanburg, Budweiser of Asheville, Prism Communications Group LLC, Romie T.
