Amanda Bowman, a current sophomore in the Honors Program who also serves as part-time administrative assistant to Honors and Faculty Development, was elected last week by national vote to the position of Student Representative to the Board of Directors of the National Collegiate Honors Council. The NCHC is the premier professional organization for honors education in colleges and universities in the United States and a growing number of other countries. Amanda begins her one-year term in January and will be assisting Dr. John Zubizarreta, Director of Honors and current President-elect of NCHC with conference planning for the organization's 2009 convention in Washington, DC.
