The Goodall Gallery at Columbia College will present its annual exhibition of senior works by Nikki Anderson, Catherine Cox, Leigha Dickey, Brendalyn Reaves, Autumn Watts, and Jessica Williams entitled “Inner Voice, Outer Vision”. The exhibition will be held from April 1 and continues through April 30, 2009, with an artists’ reception on Saturday, April 4, from 4:00p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Goodall Gallery. The featured artists are displaying works covering a variety of media and content created during their senior undergraduate year.
Nikki Anderson’s prints are inspired by the harmony of nature. Using floral imagery, her linocut designs represent individual voices within elements of the natural world. Catherine Cox’s graphic design work emphasizes the unity of humanity and the environment.  In addition, her silkscreen prints focuses on patterns and fashion to convey a sense of environmental awareness through contemporary designs. Leigha Dickey’s graphic design pieces are based on service to others. Entitled “The Labor of Love Organization”, her work includes several forms of advertisement including letterheads, shirts, and business cards. Brendalyn Reaves' graphic design is centered on her jewelry designs. Her creations embody the beauty of nature and her love for elegant fashion. Autumn Watts’ linocut prints explore the movement and grace of ballet dancers. In addition, her graphic design work reflects on female icons of the 21st century who personify strength and determination. Jessica Williams’ black and white photographs are based on issues of identity and self-evaluation. Inspired by her younger brother, her solarized images focus on the friction between personal desires and social expectations.
The Goodall Gallery is located on the Columbia College campus off of North Main Street. Turn onto Columbia College Drive and turn at the first gate to the left. The gallery is located on the Spears Music/Arts center to the right.
