Congratulations to the Columbia College Police Department on receiving the South Carolina Law Enforcement Officer Association Crime Prevention award, South Carolina's top award for outstanding and exemplary crime prevention programs for 2009. The award is sponsored by SCANA Corporation and was presented in Myrtle Beach during the SCLEOA 69th annual conference. Selection process for the award was highly competitive. The police department application for the award was submitted with letters of support from faculty, staff, community leaders, and other law enforcement agencies. In addition to the award plaque, Chief Howard Cook received a certificate of recognition.
