Eddie Shannon, Executive Vice President of SCICU, said “The event was a huge success and we really appreciate your efforts in helping us lobby the SC General Assembly for the SC Tuition Grants Program and the other state-funded scholarship programs.  Over 90 students from the twenty SCICU member independent colleges came to Columbia and enjoyed a busy day at the Statehouse. Students made many contacts with House and Senate members throughout the day.”
 
“The 2010 SCICU letter-writing campaign was also a big success with 2,482 letters written to House and Senate members. Thank you all for your hard work in this area. This is a record number of letters and we are very appreciative of your efforts,” he adds.  

SCICU held a random drawing to select seven student letter-writers to win $100 each in campus bookstore credit. Congratulations to the Columbia College student winner: Lauren Ridings!
