The goals of the Columbia College Student Government Association include unifying the student body through one shared system of self-governance, upholding the honor system, and promoting better citizenship by developing a feeling responsibility and providing practice in democratic living.
When one becomes a student in the Women's College of Columbia College, she becomes a member of the Columbia College Student Government Association. CCSGA provides a source of communication from the student body to the College administration, faculty, and staff, as well as external constituencies, a structure of democratic governance, and an orderly transition of governance from year to year.

Shoeba Hassan lives in Columbia, but was born in Indiana. She is a senior and is pursuing a double major in History and Political Science and a double minor in International Studies and Communication. She also holds a certificate in Leadership Studies. Shoeba comes from a tradition of women’s colleges in her family: her mother attended a women’s college, her older sister is a CC alum, and her younger sister is currently a CC student. Last fall, she was an intern at the U.S. Senate for Dianne Feinstein of California and this past spring she was an exchange student at Sookmyung Women’s University in Seoul, South Korea. She is excited about interacting with her fellow peers on campus and fulfilling the duties of her position as President. Carpe Diem!
Born and raised for 16 years in New York, Heather Siegfried now resides in Hilton Head, South Carolina where she graduated from Hilton Head High School. She is a senior who is majoring in Accounting with a minor in Communication. She is a very active student on campus involved in organizations such as Student Government; Business, Economics, and Accounting Club; Omicron Delta Kappa, Student Senate, CC Players, Recycling Program, and much more. She is a Steppin' Up to Leadership graduate and has attended numerous leadership conferences at other campuses. She is excited to be starting her final year and looks forward to getting to many new students. She also looks forward to accomplishing many of the new ideas Student Government has for this year. Good luck everyone!!
Jessica Merten was born in Wisconsin and still returns for holidays. She is currently a senior and a double major in Behavioral Science and English. Her involvement on campus includes the Honors Student Association, Sigma Tau Delta/English Majors Society, and CC Players. Jessica is excited to return as an SGA officer, serving her second term as Secretary.
