Religious Organizations

 

Columbia College encourages students to foster spiritual values as part of a well-rounded liberal arts education. In a religious organization, a student may find a "home away from home," where she finds support in negotiating challenges to her faith, new insights into religion and spirituality, opportunities for spiritual growth, and friends who can accompany one another through the opportunities and challenges of college life.

Columbia College's religious organizations are:

Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM) – meets 6pm – Monday nights
BCM at Columbia College is committed to connecting all college students to Christ and each other regardless of denominational preference. The main objective of BCM is to provide a ministry to individuals in the campus community who have a desire for Christian growth. Click here for more...

Campus Crusade for Christ (CRU) – meets 8pm @ USC on Thursday nights

Columbia College Catholics – meets last Wed. of each month
St. Julian's Columbia College Catholics is committed to creating a fellowship among Roman Catholics and other students interested in learning more about Catholicism. Through this fellowship, Columbia College Catholics offers students opportunities to converse with fellow Catholic students, strengthen their faith, serve God and enjoy special speakers on topics of interest.

Heavenly Creations Gospel Choir (HCGC) – meets 6:30-8pm – Sunday nights
HCGC is a group of young women committed to praising the Lord's name through song and worship. HCGC's purpose is to stimulate Christian fellowship, to provide and promote spiritual growth, and to contribute to the Christian environment of the Columbia College campus and community.

Interfaith Forum
The Interfaith Forum is a joint program of the Diversity Committee and the Chaplain that strives to insure that all faith traditions of students, faculty, and staff are respected. The Interfaith Forum promotes respect of different religious faiths by sponsoring dialogues, films, and other activities which foster better education and understanding of our religious diversity.

Kingdom Glory College Ministries KGCM) meets 7pm – Tuesday Nights for Bible study; 7:30pm – Monday nights – Soul Purpose (Praise and Worship Team); 1:00pm – Saturdays – Complete Sacrifice (Dance Team)

 
Presbyterian Student Association (PSA) meets 12noon – 1:30pm – Mondays – lunch bunch; 6:30pm –Tuesdays @ USC PSA; 7-8pm–WomenSpace Bible Study @ PSA Center
The purpose of the Presbyterian Student Association (PSA) is to witness the "good news" of God's love in Jesus Christ to the higher education community of Columbia College by inviting, equipping and challenging students, faculty and staff to respond to the call of the Holy Spirit and to grow in faith and discipleship.

Matthews' Methodist Movement (M3) meets 7pm – 8:30pm – every other Sunday night beginning Aug. 28
M3 is a group of Christian students who meet to deepen their faith and worship God, live out their beliefs, develop friendships with other Columbia College students, and have fun in the process. Grounded in the Methodist tradition, M3 is named after the first female bishop of The United Methodist Church, Marjorie Matthews. M3 is open to students of any denomination.
