Office of Residence Life

The Office of Residence Life provides many opportunities for students to learn from their living environment through an exciting variety of programs and activities, interactions with fellow students, and individual contact with staff members.

The Resident Coordinator staff live on campus and are responsible for management of the facilities and overall administration of the buildings. They are also available to assist students in various ways.

Resident Advisors, undergraduate students selected for their interpersonal and leadership skills, are employed by the Residence Life Office to provide programs and activities for students and to be peer counselors to students living in upperclass housing. Resident Advisors live on the hall to which they are assigned.

The Resident Academic Advisor, an undergraduate student who works only in the freshman center, has all of the responsibilities of the Resident Advisor, in addition to providing academic support to freshman residents and sponsoring academic related programming.

In addition to the live-in hall staff, the Director of Residence Life is responsible for the quality of life in the residence halls. The director supervises residence life and oversees the programming and facilities in the residence halls. The entire Residence Life Staff is available to help students work out roommate problems, plan and coordinate social and educational programs, and ensure a comfortable and pleasant living and learning environment.

The structure of Residence Life includes the Assistant Dean of Students, Coordinator of Housing and Residential Services, Residence Coordinator for the Freshman Center and the Upper Class Housing, along with the Resident Advisors and Resident Academic Advisors.
