This building was originally constructed in 1953 as Fleming Residence Hall, named for Mr. Giles Fleming, a Columbia builder who was a generous benefactor during his lifetime. Additions to the structure were made in 1963, 1967 and 1992.
The building was renovated as office space and renamed Allison Administration Building in 1992, in memory of J. Barnwell and Mary Blair Allison of Lancaster, S.C., longtime benefactors and friends of the College.
