Barbara Bush Center for Science & Technology

 


The Barbara Bush Center for Science and Technology was dedicated October 28, 1997. This building was made possible by a major gift from Janice McNair '59 and Robert C. McNair of Houston, Texas. At their request, the building was named in honor of former first lady, Barbara Bush.

The original Reeves Science Building, constructed in 1962, was named for John M. Reeves, of New York City and Pinehurst, NC, friend and benefactor. Mr. Reeves established the Reeves Professorship in Biology through annual gifts of $6,000 for approximately 15 years. Latter gifts were made by the Reeves Foundation to support work in scienceThe Reeves Science building was incorporated as a classroom wing and this area is named the Reeves Science Wing.
